October 2010 - Week 3 (again)

Jesse was off on his annual hunting trip (this year it went to hell in a handbasket, I won't go into the details) so Grandma KK came into town to help me out.  Quinn had her surgery early one morning so it was nice to not have to worry about Meredith and Delaney.  I can't thank my Mom enough for all her help!  I put the poor lady to work babysitting most of the time she was here.  Hopefully she'll come back!
I took a little photography workshop last week and learned a couple tricks.  Maybe I'll take better pictures now!  Most likely the settings will stay on auto...
Warm fall day in Boise
Note the trees in the left of the picture.  Soon to be torn down.  I will be sad to see them go...
We went to the FAAN Walk on Sat. to support our buddy Morgan.  Fun event with lots for the kids to do, like facepainting and pumpkin bowling!  It was raining so my camera didn't come out much.
The sun came out on Sat. so we decided to carve our pumpkins.
Papa Gene came over to scoop some guts.
The princess didn't want to get her hands dirty.
Delaney wanted nothing to do with the whole mess.
I'm still laughing about our adventure on Sunday.  Dear Sara invited us on the Pumpkin Liner when they ended up with some extra tickets.  I have to thank her for even thinking of us, we are a circus to deal with most the time.  Anyway, I hesitated because Jesse HATES that train (another story for another day).  Anyway, it was pouring down rain and we had allllll day with the kids so we said 'Why not'?!
Long story short, we pulled into the lot in Horseshoe Bend as the whistle blew and the train started moving.  OH the tears that came from the backseat.  It was so sad, really pitiful.  And anyone who knows me knows that I am ALWAYS ON TIME.  Sara said she thought someone must have died for me to be late.
As I racked my brain to think of plan B, Jesse suggested we try and catch the train.  I ran inside and asked if we could meet the train somewhere and the nice folks at Thunder Mountain let us drive and meet the train.  The day was saved and the kids were happy!  It was slightly embarassing to have to run and jump on the train and walk by all 195 other passengers who knew we were late....
 Happy girls!
Sam and Meredith, Delaney and Quinn
I have no idea where she got the poncho or where it went.
 No hood for Delaney!
I think Quinns ears were hurting.  Poor doll, I'm not so sure about the tubes.  Didn't seem to have the same instant relief that Delaney had when she got them.
 Rare family pic
Delaney was the gatekeeper to the candycorn.  At this point I just didn't care anymore.  I think this week is going to be sugar infused anyway.
Thanks Richins for putting up with us yet again!

October 2010 - Week 3

Quinn is sleeping now after her big surgery this morning.  She was such a trooper and had all the nurses in stiches with her crazy 'talking' and even crazier hair.  She didn't bounce back quite as easily as Delaney but I'm sure she'll be fine in a couple of hours.  The Dr. said her ears were both infected again, lets hope the tubes are the answer!
It was a weekend full of birthdays for us here.  Papa Gene turned 60 and my good friend Sara turned well...let's just say 30 something!  We love having Sara, Adam and their boys live so close.
We scrounged up some Wiggles birthday stuff from Merediths 2nd birthday.  Do they even have the Wiggles anymore?
We've been loving the nice fall weather.
We painted pumkins with Sam and Eli the other day.
Papa Gene and Grammy Dana came over for a birthday dinner on Sunday.  Here is Delaney covering Papas eyes for his suprise.  Or rather sticking her fingers in his nose.
 Meredith got it right.
Blowing out candles on the gingerbread cake.
 Jesse and his ladies.
'Helping' me make my bed the other day.  Boy, I need a mirror in my bedroom badly.
 Quinn!
Dana had a party for Gene at their house last weekend.  60 flamingos showed up!
Eric helping his mom with the birds.

October 2010 - Week 2

I've been a bad blogger, but for good reason!  I've slowly been putting 4 years worth of blogging into hardcover books.  It's taking forever but it will be worth it in the long run.  Or so I keep telling myself!

Let's see, what have we been up too other than going to the doctor, visiting our friends at the pharmacy and forcing antibiotics down Quinns throat?  We've managed to have a little bit of fun.  Quinn has now had a recurring infection for 8 weeks now.  She has surgery to get tubes placed next week.  I can't wait!  You would never know she is in pain...happy and drooling most of the time!
I swore I wouldn't let Meredith play soccer but I fell into the 'Mom Guilt Trap' and signed her up for a 6 week session with some friends.  The good news is that there are no games.  Just a lot of running around.
Delaney and Eva get to watch from the sidelines.
Meredith actually likes to run.  She certainly does not get that from me.

Last week they let Delaney join the group.  She was SO proud of herself and she actually kept up!
I hadn't been to McCall since August.  We headed up last weekend and it was lovely.  The girls got some good sister time playing with all the toys up thee.
 Quinn is always getting manhandled
 Where did my baby go!
6 Month Stats
Head: 13 1/2 inches (50th perc.)
Length: 27 Inches (95th perc.)
Weight: 16.5 lbs. (95th perc.)

Quinn loves eating real people food and still hates tummy time.  No rolling over for this chunky monkey.
I almost forgot!  Jesse went waterskiing one last time on 10.10.10.  A new record for him.
Dylan and Stacy put their boat in one last time.  The girls and I watched from shore.  It was a lovely day in McCall, not a ripple on the water!

October 2010 - Quinns Baptism + Spokane Trip

Back from a visit to Spokane!  We ventured up to visit family and friends and to have Quinn baptised at Assumption Parish where Meredith and Delaney were also baptised.  Father Mike has been great and allowed us to baptise all the girls there without much fuss.  We had great weather and a great time!  I have to say the thought of flying with all the kids by myself was much worse than the reality.  They did great and we all lived to tell about it!

*Also forgot to mention last week that Quinn started sitting up.  A whole new world for her!*

A quick trip to Green Bluff.  It was HOT that day.
Delaney was quite taken with the white pumpkins.
Not gonna fit in the carryon.
Poor sweet Quinn.  She got the A-okay from her Dr. on Tuesday.  Clear ears!  By Thursday I just knew she had another infection.  By Sunday her eardrum had ruptured again.
 My 3 pumpkins
Fun new game.  Blindfold Delaney with a huge blanket, put a potato head hat on her and run her around the house.  Not dangerous AT ALL.
 Godmother and Auntie extrordinaire!
Thanks for coming to see us Kortney and Chris!
I'm so sad I don't have more family photos from the baptism.  I've figured out that with 3 kids the camera often gets left behind and forgotten.  I did manage to get a few and Chris grabbed the camera during the baptism.  Thanks Uncle Chris!

KK and Quinners.  KK always has a good grabbing necklace on.
Missed my hair appt. last week.  Shouldn't have done that.
 Uncle Scotty!
A suprise visit from Aunt Cathy!  So great to have her there with us.  The hat did not last long.
Kortney and Kathie at good old Assumption.  Still has the orange pews!
Poor kiddo with a double ear infection.  Going on week 6 of antibiotics.
Kathie (Nana) made the sweet booties Quinn is wearing.

Getting dunked.  Delaney really wanted to do this 'just one more time'.

Father Mike with all the Hamiltons.  Too bad 2/3's of the kids had their hands in their mouths.
