June 2008

AJ, Greg, Brian and Jesse all made it back to Boise safe and sound today. It looks like they had a fantastic fishing trip. We are all thankful that Greg was able to make the trip after having torn his achilles a few months ago - a real trooper! You can check out all the photos HERE.

We got to meet Mae Merriman for the first time tonight. New parents Seth and Melissa are doing a fantastic job!

Aunt Emily from CO (Jesses cousin) meeting her neice for the first time.

One of Merediths jobs at Papa Gene and Grandma Danas is to water the flowers
Meredith wanted to hold Mae so bad. She is going to be a great big sister.
Kortney looking like a professional auntie

It's 2:30pm on Sat. and Jesse will be home in 24 hours from a 4 day fishing trip with AJ, Greg and Brian. Not that I'm counting or anything! It's been a long couple of days without Dad. To make the evenings go by a bit quicker we've discovered the hose. Meredith will spend a good hour watering the lawn. She likes to get really close to the dry spots as you can see. It's also really important to wear the proper saftey gear while watering. I can't wait to get our water bill this month.

Meredith likes to "fix" her new bike. She uses blades of grass as her tools. I'm not sure where she comes up with this stuff but it keeps me entertained.
I guess it's easier to work in your undies.
The stucco guys were working on the house today, hard work in the 100 degree heat.
I'm not sure if this is the color we picked, or just to color of the stucco. Trim is still not painted but the roof is halfway shingled!

We are getting spoiled by lots of visits from Grandma KK and Papa Jim. This time, we spent a couple days in Boise then headed to McCall to beat the 101 degree weather in town. We met up with Uncle Scott and his girlfriend Carissa at the cabin. Meredith got to make special zoo cupcakes with KK. Don't mind the awesome lighting from the flourescents in our cabin kitchen.

There was a lot of frosting missing from each cupcake. Suspicious.
Eating them is the best part.
Meredith liked the lions and tigers the best. And the frosting.

Taking a breather in the shade with Tucker and Ruby.

Jolene - you'll notice the Husky shirt is still going strong!
Uncle Scotty won Merediths heart forever with this present...
The tiniest cruiser you've ever seen. It's adorable, even has the big padded seat. Now all we need is a basket for all the baby dolls! Thanks Scott!

Cruising and eating popcorn - the perfect Sunday on the lake

Meredith takes her flag holding duty very seriously
Crazy boys and their water sports. Brrrr.
Meredith loves her Uncle Scotty
Saying goodbye is tough business
Thanks for a great visit!

Hooray for progress! Some of the siding went up last week as well as some of the trim which has yet to be painted.

Still no new arch...
Living room, the wall with the fireplace will have built in cabinets and a mantle of course
One of three upstairs bedrooms, with closet and built in desks in two of them.
Dining room

Master bedroom

Master closet, I think it's bigger than the master bathroom
Looking large in my kitchen
Even larger up close, 33 weeks - 7 or less to go!
Pocket doors into my laundry room
Bathroom off main hallway and den

Den on the first floor
Side patio with stucco material just waiting to be used
The ginormous garage that is making one neighbor in particular mad as a hornet. Hee hee.
Unpainted trim on windows

It was a busy baby weekend in Boise.

Congrats to our friends the Fitzpatricks on the arrival of their 3rd baby - Fiona

and

Congrats to Jesses cousin Melissa and her husband Seth on the arrival of little Mae (below) who is going to be spoiled rotten seeing as how she has FIVE aunties and is the 1st grandchild on both sides. We can't wait to meet her!

This is more like it! We finally have some normal June weather here in Idaho. After a month of promising Meredith we could go swimming and play in the sand the day finally arrived. This is Meredith and Tucker having a Pirates Booty stand-off. He is just praying she drops one. We were still pretty much the only ones on the beach. Jesse was crazy enough to brave the water and brush off the old waker surfer.

Here I am in all my 32 week glory. How have 8 months passed?
Meredith is hooked on boating. The first thing she said this morning was "when can I go on the boat?" She's way harder to keep track of this year compared to last summer.
Council Mt. still has plenty of snow.
Back in Boise we stopped by to wish Papa Gene a happy Fathers Day. And of course we walked across the street to see what progress has been made on the new house. All the insulation is in so drywall starts tomorrow.
The front porch concrete got poured. Don't worry it's not purple, it's just not stained yet. And they still need to fix that darn arch, it bugs me every time I see it! It kind of makes the house look sad and droopy...
Now that all the doors are up we can't get in! This is the side patio which is being made bigger next week. Again, the concrete isn't stained yet. The trim is going up and getting painted this week too! I think some of the shingles as well, stay tuned.
Back patio off the kitchen has yet to be poured. The garage lumber is waited to be used. The neighbor who doesn't like the height of our house is not going to be pleased when she sees the matching garage ;)

One of my favorite things to eat in the whole wide world is corn on the cob. However, I hate eating it off the cob. I always cut it off. I NEED one of these Corn Strippers.

This weekend marked the 1st of 3 that we will be heading to the cabin. We swapped the Porters a weekend in July when I won't be able to travel anymore (well I probably could but don't want to risk it!). Sadly the weather wasn't quite as nice as we had hoped so we'll put off hauling the boat up until next weekend. In the meantime we pretended it was nice out and had a little beach bonfire complete with smores.

Merediths 1st marshmallow roast. Last year her bedtime was too early to enjoy the fire...
You can't tell by our clothing that it's June!

Meredith approves of the smores and wants more, more, more.
31 weeks by the lake. I didn't think I'd have to stretch my winter clothes out for this long.
In case anyone was wondering, yes, we still have dogs!
Snow pile as of June 7th

Meredith also got to go fishing for the 1st time. Anything to keep her entertained.
The fish weren't biting and Meredith told us that "they probably already had dinner"
LAST June 8th. Bit of a difference in Meredith and the weather!
Roadside picnic on the way home...
The other big news of the weekend is that the "Binky Fairy" visited us. No more binkies. Meredith doesn't cry, she just plays in bed until 10pm and wakes up super early. I'm not so sure about this...

I've been meaning to do a house update for a while but was hoping to show off our front porch. The unusual rain in May has delayed the pouring of the front porch and patios. Maybe this week! We do now have windows and a front door. We are planning on cream colored trim with a gray/green stucco first floor and the upper floor will be sided in shakes. Also, *sigh* the front porch arch is all wrong. Soon to be fixed and not so "deep" of an arch that it covers the windows. The good news is that we have all the heating, cooling, lighting, low-voltage wiring, and plumbing done. Next up is the dry wall...

30 weeks! Where will this baby be living? Who knows!?
Our neighbors and friends the Goulets had a fun BBQ on Saturday. At one point someone counted over 30 kids in attendance. They far outnumbered us adults. Here is Cooper and Meredith enjoying their dinner.
I tried to capture the chaos but it was a zoo...
The "adult" side of the yard!
