October 2011 - Week 4

We have had a jam packed weekend in Boise.  Cousin AJ and his cutie daughter arrived on Thursday to stay with us for a few nights.  AJ's grandfather passed away which is sad, but we got to see them so that was a nice suprise visit.  Logan wasn't quite sure what to think of the chaos at our hosue!  She looks like one of the gang here.
Along with AJ and Logan, Nana Kathie and Aunt Kortney came to town as well!
We drug them to Boo at the Zoo on Saturday.  After weeks of refusing to put on a costume, Quinn finally found one she likes - the ladybug is back!
 Jesse, kids and Tigger.
Happy to get one more year out of the ladybug costume!
Delaney the purple butterfly checking out her goods.
Girls + Aunt Kortney!  Meredith wanted to be a mermaid again...
Nana is in there too, it was a nice sunny day.
Today we finally carved our pumpkins.  We can't do it too early because our fiesty neighborhood schools tear them to shreds.
 Quinn didn't want to touch.
 Well maybe...
Delaney drew me a 'recipe' of what she wanted her pumpkin to look like.  If I could freeze time I think it would be right now.  I love all the ages the girls are - 5,3 and 1.
Delaney is so funny these days.  At the library last week we saw a homeless guy hanging in the parking lot.  She saw him and said "Hey Mom look a pirate!".
Quinn took refuge from the carving, in the bushes.
Stay tuned for an overload of Halloween pictures!
We have 4 parties tomorrow...I should go nap.

Officially Lost Track of the Week

I am missing summer already, the coat clutter drives me bonkers all winter long.
I also miss eating outside.  Floor scrubbing is for the birds.  Note all of Quinns food on the floor.
Last soccer game of the season!  We were dreading soccer season but it really wasn't too bad.  Meredith scored her 5th goal of the season so it was a good day.
Some random soccer pictures from various games.

 Quinn looooves her Daddy.
After soccer we changed from our red/white to blue/orange and hit the BSU tailgate with Papa Gene and Grammy.  It was our first tailgate of the season and it was beautiful.  Quinn loved the band and screamed when we went home.
 Meet up with the Richins!
These are a from a few weeks ago.  The girls were fighting so I told them I was going to take pictures every time they fight to show their Dad at the end of the day.  It worked for a few minutes.
 Happy in her swing
The girls insisted that we have a 'spooky' house for Halloween.

Mid-Week Pumpkin Post

I'm not sure I was much of a help to Merediths teacher when I showed up at their fieldtrip with Delaney and Quinn in tow.  I thought I would kill 2 birds with 1 stone!  We ventured out to Linder Farms with both am and pm Kindergarten classes last Wednesday.  We got to play around a little bit waiting for the bus to arrive.  Merediths wish came true - she got to ride the bus!
Quinn wouldn't move in the corn.

 Still waiting for the bus...
I love getting the hand-me-down clothes out for the season.  Delaney never wore Merediths cast offs but they fit Quinn just right!
 18 months old!
 Here they come!
 Someone is excited!
 Learning some farm rules
Quinn and Delaney along for the ride
Whenever we do anything with Merediths class/friends Delaney is right there with Meredith.  Just one of the Kindergartners.  Everyone thought she was hilarious.  Meredith looks less than thrilled.
Top o' the haystack with Sophia Chen (look we DO have a little diversity in Idaho!!)
 Delaney goofing off
Cooper, Jerry (yes, Jerry), Meredith, Delaney and Aviv
Copper was so cute with Delaney.  He has always had a thing for her since the day we brought her home from the hospital.  Coopers mom Leanne was the one came to stay with Meredith at 2am when we rushed off to the hospital to have Delaney.  ANYWAY, Cooper wouldn't let Delaney out of his sight.
Picking up little kids is always fun.  Oh and there is Jerry again.
I am told Cooper and Jerry spend a lot of time in the 'thinking' chair. Along with Orion the new kid.
I don't know how much is true but kindergarten stories are hilarious.
Poor Delaney, always a pawn in Merediths games.
 Roosevelt Raiders Kindergarten class!
I wanted Meredith to ride home with us in our car but she INSISTED on riding the bus.  Mostly because she and Fisher had big plans to sit together in the front seat. She told me they held hands the whole time.  She did stake her claim on Fisher years ago.  Betrothed?  Would make a couple Dads I know very happy...

October 2011 - Week 3

Viewer Discretion is Advised!

Jesse returned from his yearly elk hunt in the wilds of Idaho last Thursday.  It was a crazy week without him (to put it mildly).  Jesse also took my trusty sidekick Papa Gene with him into the woods.  We were a little lost (ie late for everything) but we all survived!  While I held down the fort, here is what Jesse was doing...bare with me, I really don't know what was happening in these pictures.  This is what I found on the camera!

Body bags and a thermometer?
Home for the week or circus tent?
Must have stopped by the cabin for our beach chairs.
Looks pretty good to me, no crayons, hair bows or Barbies!
 Guns!
 Final destination
 Uncle Phil the trusty guide
Success!  I think that is a leg?
 Prepare yourselves...
 Hunting transportation
 Saftey first, always.

Jesse always comes home with a really scary self portrait.  This year is no exception.
I'm so glad the freezer that we have had for 5 years will finally be full!
Good job Jesse, next time I'm sending a kid with you.
