January 2010 - Week ?

Back with a few pictures from the last couple of weeks. For some reason I haven't been too quick to grab my camera, probably because I'm not moving too fast these days. You'll notice a theme here, my kids are either always naked or in leotards. Meredith claims she is always too hot and Delaney just copies Meredith.
Last weekend fingerpainting at the cabin. While the boys were skiing we had some friends over to play on Friday night. The chalkboard fridge was a huge hit. Delaney is my climber, we've found her in sinks, on top bunks, on counters etc...she has no top on because it was covered in blood from splitting her lip open climbing onto a chair!
Meredith, Sam and Delaney (NeeNee as she calls herself).
We spent a little time in the new babys room while it was raining out today. They girls like to look out the window and see what's happening on Bannock. Again - no clothes!
The nursery is going to be yellow and turquoise, my Mom made this fun cushion. Thanks Mom!
Delaney has started to dress up with Meredith. Today they played 'dance class'. She's getting so big and her long hair makes her look so old!
Meredith likes to give Delaney directions (ie. boss her around).
Running up and down the hall is a favorite pastime.
Everytime we go upstairs Delaney goes straight for her "Boo" (binky) and her blankie. She is obsessed. I'm scared to even think about taking the binky away!
Both girls are really into reading books. Here they are lounging on the new babys crib mattress with their favorite novels. Cinderella for Meredith and Elmo for Delaney.
A rare moment of sisterly love.
We sure love these two girls and can't wait to meet the next little lady! I keep wondering if she'll be blonde or brunette?

Next Up: We celebrate Merediths big 4th birthday in Disneyland!

A little reality check...

I've been up in arms about a recent decision made by Merediths preschool. They decided to cancel morning curbside drop-off. This means next year I will have to have 3 kids and myself out the door by 8:30am (I know all you working moms...I know). We will then drive to school, park unload one kid, get out the stroller, unload 2 more and then venture across a very busy street. Apparently this is to allow parents more 'social time'. All I know is that no other parent is going to want to see me in my pjs with 3 kids, one of whom will most likely want a nap, snack, boob, or something of that nature. Anyway - I might have to work on some major carpooling options...
And then I browsed over to a blog I read regularly and I'm reminded that I really don't have it so bad. I've been a blog stalker for a while and remember reading about the horrible accident this brave Mom was in last year. A nice reminder that in the big scheme of things, no curbside drop-off isn't all that bad.
PS: Mormon mom blogs always have the most creative ideas ;)

January 2010 - Week 3 (Vegas!)

My 'mom brain' did it again and I forgot my camera last weekend while I was in Las Vegas with some girlfriends. Luckily there were plenty of cameras handy and thankfully I can steal pictures from my friend Heathers blog. So, if you are curious - check out our trip HERE!

I will miss this view!

It was nice to get away for a few days and see some sun. Not too warm down there, but good enough for me! No diapers, no cleaning up floors after meals and no baby monitors. I'm trying to enjoy the 'down time' before the storm hits in April!

Jesse did a great job with the girls (although he had help from his Mom and Papa Mike!). I came home to a clean house and folded laundry! Thanks Jesse, Kathie and Mike for holding down the fort while I was gone...

January 2010 - Week 2

This picture was from last week before we went to Phoenix. A happy day for the girls when they get to see 2 Papas at once! Delaneys new trick is to scream as loud as she can "Papa Geeeem"! It's kind of a combo of Jim/Gene...
We ventured up to McCall with the Bordners last weekend. The kids had a great time playing together. I guess they can get away with cuddling on the couch...for now!
Delaney and Payton. Took about 30 min. to gear them up. Lasted about 20 min. outside.
Group cuddle on the princess bed. Merediths new trick is not keeping clothes on.
Checking out a 'big girl bed'. Soon enough ladies.
Poor poor Kirstin got hit with the fly mid-day on Saturday. Jeremy had a work function that night so Jesse and I got to see what life is like with 4 kids. We bribed them with brownie sundaes.

4 monkeys in a bath. And no, we will not be having a 4th.
Kirstin survied and all the kids had fun. I think Meredith is still tired! She and Ryder hit the slopes on Saturday and they did great. After only one ski lesson, Meredith is doing 100% better. So fun to see her doing so well at something I am so bad at! Ski lesson #2 tomorrow, we'll see how it goes.
Next Up: Papa Mike and Nana visit while Mom goes to Vegas!

January 2010 - Week 1

Heading to Pheonix for the Fiesta Bowl was a great way to kick of the New Year! Jesse and I headed to the sun with some of his co-workers for the big BSU game against TCU. It was nuts down there, Bronco fans everywhere. My theory is that we didn't see many TCU fans because unlike BSU fans, they don't sport their school colors every single day of the year. That being said there were obviously far more BSU fans in attendance, quite impressive actually!
Brett and Melissa Porter (cabinmates!)

Brocks beer.
I do not recommend attending a bowl game when pregnant. I missed out on a lot of beer drinking! Me and my belly at 27 weeks.
The big win!
Awww, Coach Pete. Jesse is determined to make Coach Pete his new BFF. The Petersons bought a condo in the complex next to our cabin. Plans are to have his favorite beer on tap this summer.
Thanks Mom and Dad for watching the girls!
