September 2009 - Week 4

A little late this week posting...sorry Grandparents! We had a nice (busy!) weekend in Boise to end September. The weather was great and we got our yard all 'put away' for fall. We also had a few birthday parties and a fun wine tasting event at the Roosevelt Market.
Morgan Kearneys 5th bday party was at the Little Gym. The kids had SO much fun.
Delaney wanted in on all the big kid action.
Trying to convince Payton to play with her
Still trying to hang with the big kids.

The little ones watching from the sidelines.
Poor kid has no idea her world is going to be turned upside down in April!
Meredith and I also hit the Edwards Nursery fall sale and replanted our pots!

Coming in April....

Most of my loyal blog readers know by now, but I thought I would make it official. Baby #3 does deserve his or her own post, don't you think? We are excited and anxious and just plain scared to be outnumbered by children! And to answer a lot of your questions, YES we did want this and have always planned on having a family of five (like good Catholics). An NO, we are not buying a minivan. And YES Jesse has an appointment with a urologist.
So cheers to us and our growing family!

Telluride - A Comedy of Errors

I'm not quite sure were to start in the telling of our Telluride adventure. Let's just say if it could go wrong, it DID go wrong. Despite a lot of roadblocks it was great to see our friends from Seattle and Kirsten and Mike get married! Let's just say we laughed a lot...
This was the view from our room in our cabin. This was at 8am, after having arrived at 5am after driving from Denver for 6 hours in a rented shuttle van. $600 later the Cramers and Hamiltons arrived safe and kind of sound. United Airlines can suck it.
My favorite part of the trip was riding the gondolas everywhere!
Me and Darcy heading into Telluride
We're alive! We weren't sure Malcolm our driver was going to keep it between the lines on the drive from Denver. We also thought at one point he may just take us into the woods and kill us.
Cabins we stayed in at the Mountain Village
Heading down into Telluride
Fall colors were starting to show. Sorry Idaho, Colorado puts you to shame. The town of Telluride

Friday night welcome dinner in Telluride. Rachele, Darcy, Chelsey and Naomi.
Hamiltons!
Droz's
DG ladies. Naomi, Darci G., Chelsey, Lindsay, Rachele, Darcy I., Kirsten, Jolene, Nancy, Kelly and me!
The day after. A lot of Gatorade was consumed. This was at Tracks where Jesse left his debit card. Thus cancelling our account...
Iwens in Mountain Village
A sneak peek at the pretty bride!
Mike and Kirsten, in the sun!
And then the rain came...sideways.
Thanks Mike for moving us inside!
Ben and Darcy toughing it out. The wine helped.
Trevor and Darci (from Crested Butte) would have toughed it out. Hank, I'm not so sure about.
I knew bringing my raincoat was a good idea!

And par for the course...my camera ran out of batteries! Trust me, it was a GORGEOUS wedding held at Allreds at the top of Chair 7. A fantastic time was had by all of course. To end the trip we decided to drive the wrong way to Montrose. Not to worry, thanks to speed racer Chad we made our plane and got home safely!

September 2009 - Week 2

What a fun weekend we had with our friends the Richins and the Yorks. Jeff, Naomi and baby Aaron traveled from Seattle to visit us here in Boise. We have missed them the past 2 years as they were living in Portugal. We are so glad to have them back in the States!
We warned Naomi that is might be a little chaotic with 5 kids under the age of 4 but she is such a good mom already she took the chaos in stride. We crammed Meredith, Aaron and Delaney in the truck on Thursday and headed to McCall.
The weather was perfect all weekend. Delaney and Sam had a little dockside snack one day.
Us ladies snuck away to the Saturday Market in McCall. Nice and quiet this time of year!
My two good buddies since gradeschool!
Picnic on the lawn
We finally cruised around the whole lake. 1st time this summer! Of course on the one boat ride I didn't have my camera Meredith went wake surfing (with Jesse of course)! It was a proud moment for her Dad.
Jeff got suckered into the 96 page Aladdin book.
Back in Boise we attempted to get a group kid shot. Maybe next year!
Sam was out after 5 seconds and Eli was soon to follow.
With the moms!
Thank you to Jeff and Naomi for bringing Aaron to Boise! We loved having you and hope you come again soon. Meredith is in LOVE with Naomi and is talking about her constantly. What special friends I have! See you tomorow York family ;)
Next Up: Jesse and Molly go to Telluride to see my friend Kirsten get married! I'm even looking forward to nice calm, quiet airport time.

Dedication

This post is dedicated to Jesse and his quest for the perfect ski. He's been working on his 'form' all summer. Thanks to Dylan and Stacy for taking Jesse skiing last weekend. You don't want to know how we usually go skiing (pretty sure it's not legal). Dylan always takes such great photos, you can check them out HERE.
This is Jesse in his 'housecoat'. We all give him a lot of grief for wearing a robe on the boat, but he claims its better than a towel.
Flag Girl!

1st Day of PreSchool

The big day finally arrived! Meredith and I were all ready this morning for her first day of preschool at Wesleyan. She did so great and is going to do even better on Thursday when I just drop her off (curbside!). She told me after school today that "School will be more fun when you don't come with me.". Gee, thanks.
I made her stand in front of the building (Cathedral of the Rockies).
Sitting on her spot.
Reunited with her good buddies Cooper and Ava!
Playdough time.
Washing dishes with Ava. Meredith told me that her new classroom is way more cool than the Mom and Tots classroom.

September 2009 - Week 1

September already! I love the fall so the arrival of September is fantastic in my book. No more 100+ days, nice cool nights. This year we are getting geared up for a change in our house. Meredith starts official pre-school tomorrow. Just 2 days a week (that's all I could handle!), we are both excited for her new adventures with lots of good buddies at Wesleyan. Stay tuned for more pre-school stories...
In other news a fun package was awaiting when we got home from McCall. Thanks Nana and Papa Mike! Of course Delaney likes the paper best, and tried to put her new pants on her head.

Merediths head popped off when she saw her new Ariel nighgown with matching slippers and headband. Fancy!
We wrapped up our summer in McCall with one last long trip to the cabin. We headed up last Tuesday (Jesse too, what a nice treat!). The weather was amazing! We love to go to the Wednesday Market, just like the Saturday Market with half as many people. No chance of running out of tamales on Wednesday.
We hit the public beach to enjoy our tamales while they were still warm.
Delaney likes em' too!
Doug Batt busted out the old bong/volcano for the kids to play with.
We enjoyed lots of picnics on the beach. These 2 just make my world go round! Even when Meredith is yelling at me and bossing me around. I'm sure she is ordering me to bring her something...
The weather in McCall took a turn for the worse on Sunday so we headed home. We were able to make the Bordners end of summer BBQ blowout.
Karen mixing up some type of spooky punch. No jello shots.
Jesse and his main squeeze.
Sarah telling Adam how fast she is going to run in the Salmon Marathon next weekend.
Go Sarah and Laura!
Delaney is looking devilish here. Eli and Isla look nice and sweet.
Morgan and Meredith having "Princess Talk". Coming soon to NPR.
Auntie Erica and her boys. Erica was visiting from Houston for the weekend. Way to tear up downtown Boise Erica! We love it when you come to town.
Popscicle frenzy.
The lovely hostess with the mostess and her cute Payton
Kid Zone
Delaney eyeing Isla socks. Delaney doesn't know what they are since she hasn't worn any in 6 months.
And then 8o'clock rolled around and the kids turned into gremlins. Time to go home!
Next Up: We scare the Yorks into not having any more kids! And try to convince them to summer in McCall with us.
