January 2009 - Week 4

Is this week four of January? Maybe my counting is off. Anyway, you've heard of "Awards Season", well it's "Birthday Season" in our neck of the woods. Meredith had 3 parties this week, 1 next week and then it's her big day on the 4th. We had a great time at Avas party on Tuesday, they even got their faces painted!
Ryder had his 4th birthday party on Saturday. The kids got a tour of the local fire station and then they headed back to the Bordners for presents, lunch and cupcakes! Ryder was surrounded by his harem.
Waiting to dig into the cupcakes
Hmm, I wonder where he gets his silly antics?
Sam hasn't met a cupcake he didn't like. Sam is getting ready to be a big brother, 2 weeks to go for my dear friend Sara who is having another little boy.
We had to get the baby girl line up. Delaney (6m), Isla (4.5m), Payton (6m). Merediths friend Ava said to me the other day "Delaney has funny hair!". She sure does, it sticks straight up as you can see.
Cat fight!
Payton really wanted to eat Islas shoes.
Meredith likes to "shoot" her friends emails and update her blog. She tells me this stuff and it cracks me up. Her friend Fisher has a broken arm. After we saw him yesterday she said "when are Fishers bones going to fall out?". I guess that would make sense to a 3 year old!
*Note the leotard, I still can't get her out of them*

January 2009 - Week 3

I had to throw in this picture from last weekend. Fisher and Meredith playing dress-up. I might stash this one away until they are teenagers.
We headed up to McCall this weekend with the Nevelas. Of course we had to hit the ice rink with people who actually know how to skate. They must be good if they own their own skates right?! Meredith doesn't quite get the concept of smiling for the camera.
Back at the Cabin Meredith was reading to Delaney. *Note the awesome scab under Merediths nose, she wiped out on her bike last week*
Reading on the bed was a bit more comfy than this chair.
Some say she looks just like Jesse? I think her buns are a bit cuter. Sorry Jess.

January 2009 - Week 2

We ended the second week in January with a fun birthday party for my friend Heather. It was Heathers 30th, but I decided to take matters into my own hands and celebrate like it was MY 30th birthday. Do you all remember my 30th when Jesse decided it was HIS day to celebrate? Anyway, I drank my weight in wine and it ended badly. The good news is that I had a great time with all our friends. Especially Brooke, who has been my buddy since 4th grade. Thanks for taking care of the kids all day long yesterday Jesse...

I'm a bit late posting this week, we are just settling back into our normal routine. We've had 2 weeks of Holidays and guests. Time to get back to normal! Our punch list is starting to get a bit shorter. Finally - my backsplash!

I decided to try out Delaneys new hook-on highchair today. She seems to like it! Meredith thinks it's fun to sit next to her. I can only imagine what will be going on when my back is turned.
Delaney often wonders what Meredith is talking about.

Grandma KK and Papa Jim finally made it down for a visit. Delaney likes bathtime, especially sucking on a wet washcloth.

January 2009 - Week 1

I've been thinking a lot today about how lucky I am to be living such a wonderful life. I have a wonderful husband (Hi Jesse!), 2 precious girls and an amazingly supportive family and great friends. How many people get home from vacation to an emtpy fridge and just walk across the street for dinner (thanks Gene and Dana!)? Not too many I think. We just wrapped up a week stay at our cabin in McCall. A fun time was had by all, but the most fun was had by Meredith who got to ski 4 times and hit the ice rink. We were the only ones on the ice that morning.
Just like Disney on Ice.
Not so good for an old mans back.
This was taken at our new friends Heather and Daves house on New Years Eve. Thanks for the great time! Meredith was so pooped after playing with 3 year old Miles until 10pm. Heather and Dave run The River Company, look em' up if you want to go rafting!
Delaney likes to gnaw on anything she can get her hands on.
Ruby is just happy to be inside for once. Poor abused dog.
Brundage bunny hill!
Meredith on "the leash"
I'm going to try a new format this year, a new post each week so my pictures don't get so spread out. Hopefully it's easier to read that way. We wish everyone a very Happy New Year!
