April 2010 - Week 3

Actually, I have no idea what day, month or week it is at this point!  All I know is that I have a 4 year old, a 20 month old and a 2 week old to keep track of, it's wild at our house to say the least.  The time is flying by as usual, which is kind of sad.  I'm trying to forget about the lack of sleep and enjoy Quinns newborn moments!  Quinn is like a celebrity around here, the girls are always lining up to get a picture with her.

After baths, getting ready for bed.

*SPOILER ALERT FOR GRANDMAS!*
If you don't want to know about your Mothers Day present...then skip this part!

On Sat. some of my good friends brought their kids over to do a little mothers day crafting.  The idea was to do hand/foot prints on canvas.  Turns out toddlers don't like to be neat and tidy ;)  Thanks for joining us everyone, we had a great time!

Isla and Payton getting ready.
Payton and her pretty Mom.
Delaney liked the water bucket the best.
Wendell didn't like the paint AT ALL.
He did like the Jeep though - so did Sam!  Sorry it's hot pink boys...
Now, let's see if we can make it through week #3!

April 2010 - Week 2 (Revised Edition)

Meredith had an INTENSE playdate today.  Park and pool...she got out of her friends car, walked right passed me and up to her room.  This is how I found her.  Awesome!
Out with the old and in with the new!

Life wasn't busy enough this month so we added some major landscaping to our to-do list.  Luckily we got smart and hired someone else to do all the work.  Here are some before and afters.

Before...
Before...mud pit.
Before...
After!  So much better.  Now the huge window well has a cover, we have a nice new pathway (geothermally heated) and lots of new trees and shrubs!
Delaney likes to live on the edge.  I'm suprised she hasn't broken any bones yet.
No more grass.
The demon princess toy. I hate this thing and was hoping that the great outdoors would destory it. Apparently it's indestructable. I can hear it right now just going off for no reason. Must get batteries out...
The light bark, is playground bark for the kiddos.  The idea is to lock the gates and let them run loose without having to worry.  We also have a new raised garden bed.  Now, if I only knew how to garden.
We lasted 2 days with the Volvo.  It was too stressful having to watch Delaney while trying to drive.  Far too much access for both girls to the new baby.  By red Volvo!
Hello red Acadia.  Mountain Home Auto Ranch drove this to our house, we signed papers and they took the Volvo away.  So easy!  Now, if only the touchscreen controls in this car were as easy to figure out.
Meredith loves holding Quinn.
And just for fun, Jesses aunt Carol sent over some old photos of Gene, his brother Gary and Carol!
Nice trunks Gene and Carol.
*Note* Apparently this is NOT Carol but Gene.  I was hoping poor Carol would get a girl suit and not hand-me-down trunks!

Super Dad!

I know Jesse likes to check out this blog so I thought I would post a little something just for him!   I do not know what we would have done without him the last few days.  Usually we have a Grandma staying with us through the first week but KK went to China (not the earthquake rattled part, she is fine).  So Jesse took the first half of this week off, thank God.  Our mornings are a little rough and I think the older girls love having him around as much as possible.

Thank you Jesse for being an awesome Dad and husband.  All 4 of us adore you and we'll all be crying (literally) tomorrow when you go back to work.

Quinn Update:  She is perfect (so says Dr. Sackman).  Except for the throwing up and choking episodes she is doing great.  She is proving to be so much fun because I'm not nearly as worried about every little thing.  All I know is that once again I am claiming the papasan chair and my glider to be the best money we ever spent!

Quinn McCall Hamilton

I had to get a picture of Delaney on her 'baby pillow', this is how we read books each night for the last few months.  I think she wishes Quinn were back in there acting as her pillow!
After getting bumped from an induction slot on Friday the 9th, we decided to let nature take it's course.  I'm so glad that we did, I started having real contractions at 8am on Saturday morning.   Turns out I have kids pretty quick.  This is me at 12:45pm after they told me I was 8cm and it was too late for an epidural.  Blasted - not again!
Hi Burke!  Our friend who is an OB was working and he stayed to make sure my Dr. arrived on time.  What a nice guy to know!
1:58pm, Quinn made her appearance.  The most 'fun' birth I've had by far.  Probably because I was laid back, knew what was happening and was SO ready to meet her!
Biggest kid yet!  7lbs12oz
Before no sleep, happy as clams!
Long toes and feet just like her mom.
Let the chaos begin!  Delaney did not like the situation AT ALL.  This was her only visit.  She lost it when the wheeled me out in a wheelchair.  Poor kid.  Thankfully she is adapting to her new sister really well now that we are home.
My Mom was able to meet Quinn too before her big journey to China!  I'm so glad she was able to be with the girls and meet Quinn.
Pandamonium in the delivery room.
What have we done!!!
Meredith is so excited about the baby, she is such a big helper.
Always the jokester, Jeremy brought us a cake.  I think the entire 8th floor got a piece!
Not loving her first bath.
24 hours later - time to go home!  I was missing the big girls...
Meredith made Quinn a wreath of tulip petals to welcome her home.
Delaney gets a turn at holding Quinn.
Merediths favorite new spot.  I wonder how long that will last?
Thank you to everyone for all your well wishes and kind words.  We are adjusting to life as a family of five and my patience will be tested when Jesse goes back to work on Thursday.  One day at a time!

Easter 2010

We certainly didn't think we would still be a family of 4 celebrating Easter this year!  Of course I've set myself up thinking our 3rd baby would be born just like the other two, 6 days early at 2am.  I guess she is just going to do her own thing!  Still playing the waiting game...

We had a great Easter with Grandma KK and Papa Jim in town.  Meredith grabbed her Easter basket and went up to her room as soon as she could.  I guess she thinks Delaney is annoying already?
How could this little one be annoying?!
Hmmm, which watering can is better?
Easter breakfast before Mass.  Notice the headbands.  Delaney insists on having exactly what Meredith has on at all times.
Mass at St. Johns.  Got there early got good seats and the kids were gems.  An Easter miracle!
One of many egg hunts we had yesterday.
Delaney really liked finding eggs, but only the ones with candy in them.  She got smart and started shaking them before putting them in her basket.
The Easter bunny brought Jesse a new cruiser.
The good old bunny cake made an appearance.
Sugar detox happening today!  Hopefully in my next post I will be announcing the arrival of our newest (and last!) addition!
