August 2009 - Week 4

Aunt Kortney was a little "under the weather" today after such a fun wedding last night. So, we decided to drag her out into the 90 degree heat to the Western Idaho Fair. Now, this is big for me, I really do not like fairs. I think they are kind of gross (the food though, I do love the food). Anyway, Meredith saw the ferris wheel from the car yesterday so we couldn't deny her to joy of mushy trampled grass and treats at every turn (1lb. of fries! ice cream potatoes! deep fried PBJ!). She really only wanted cotton candy. I knew the kids would love the animals, thankfully while everyone else was at church we were at the petting zoo!
Delaney had a 10 min. conversation with this goat.
Uggg, rides. $8 and 30 seconds later...it was over.
Free ferris wheel ride day and guess who wasn't tall enough? Boo! See why I don't like the fair? It makes kids sad.
Kortney powered through. Pronto Pups helped.
We did get to ride the carousel. I got on with Meredith forgetting she is totally big enough to go by herself. I managed not to throw up.
Another $8 later, of course the one Meredith could ride on wasn't free.
Okay, enough complaining about the fair. It WAS a good time, we went on the right day at the right time and the kids had a good time so it was worth it!

There is nothing Meredith likes more than a good wedding! Jesses cousin Sadie married her Marine Westin this weekend and we had a great time catching up with friends and family. Sadie has four sisters, built in bridesmaids!

Pretending to be the bride
Cousins Emily, Melissa and Monica

A Very Important Post

I'm serious, this is a big deal. I will offer a reward for anyone that can find these in Boise for me. Raisinets are my FAVORITE, but I can usually only find them in a huge bag at Fred Meyer or Shopko or Target (yes, I go just for the Raisinets). Also, I know the M&W Market has little bags but these...these are my dream come true!

*Note* I do not eat fake Raisinets from the bulk food section at stores. Nor do I prefer the Kirkland brand chocolate covered raisins. They must be Raisinets!

Here is a link to JJ and Ryan surfing together. Whenever I am sad I'm going to watch THIS.

1st Annual Hot August Nights - Installment #1

Jesse and I have been dreaming about an adults only, beer soaked, sun filled weekend at our cabin for 3 years. 10 months in the making and we finally made it happen! Little did we know just how much fun we would have. 25 adults, no kids and tons of booze and sun - the perfect combination. We are so lucky to have such fantasic friends who keep us in stitches! I'm still laughing about the weekends antics...even as I pick splinters out of Jesses feet.
*I haven't even downloaded my own pictures. I stole these from Heather and Brooke*
Brooke and Kirstin on Friday night.
"Hey, who is that good looking guy? Maybe I should dance with him?"
Dance party #1. DJ Ebay provided the wicked tunes. Paperboy!

This was the best thing I have ever seen in my entire life. JJ and Ryan tandem wake surfing. I don't think this could have happened without massive amounts of beer. Video to follow soon. This was followed by wake surf time trials. JJ was the winner at 34 mph. He has no skin left on his hands.
No one else got the memo that the dress attire for Sat. night was business casual. Socks optional.
Lots of towels and bikes! No drunk driving allowed.
My girlfriends remembered my birthday, thanks ladies!
Jesses Leg Humper Lager.
Slow dancing Bordners. Who doesn't do this on the beach? I think Sarah was doing the limbo in the background.
Those sick lights in our kitchen ruin pictures every time!
Perfect weather!
Cocktails on the lawn. We all look so innocent in the daylight...
Beach view from the boat
That Jessica is a funny lady
Dance party #2

Skenes before things went downhill for Heather...
"Really, I'm not that drunk" Fall #1
JJ looks uncomfortable. I heard Heather was making the boys blush!
It's all fun and games
Until the cops show up
Our new friends in the McCall Police Dept.
SUCCESS!
More pictures to come.

August 2009 - Week 1

Here is what we did for five very cold and rainy days in McCall.
Dressed in clothes that are way too small. See Delaney in the background? She is always trying to steal Merediths thunder.
Put messages in a bottle for a princess to find someday.
Ate corn on the cob. This is Delaneys favorite silly face to make.
Dug up treasures on the beach. Meredith found this doll buried...no idea where it came from.
Ate sand and sticks.
Made sandcastles with tunnels and moats.
And I picked huckleberries until my hands were blue! The fruits of my labor.

August 4th...

Since today is Delaneys actual birthday I thought I would share a couple of photos. We saved a couple presents for today and the girls got up early so Jesse could join in the opening fun.
KK and Papa Jim got Delaney a darling Wheely Bug.
A couple more inches and it'll be great! She loves to push it around...
A new baby doll (her very own!) from Uncle Scotty. Love at first sight.
Kisses for the new baby.
Meredith scored some cool glasses from our neighbors Mark and Jeannine. The kind you can drink from, the black marks are from getting her face painted like a dalmation (see video).

The Wheely Bug in action. I don't think our baseboards will ever be the same.
