June 2009 - Week 4

It feels like summer has finally arrived - 95 and up the last few days in Boise. I think I'm finally getting used to the heat. It's so nice to be back in the 'flat lands' where we have some trees. I don't miss our hot/windy old house up the hill when we have nice cool patios to enjoy!
Jesse went on a fishing trip with his friends so I had to call in reinforcements...Papa Jim and Grandma KK. We had a great weekend and it just flew by! Thanks Mom and Dad for coming to visit, we had a fantastic time.
Papa Jim and Delaney are BFFs.
KK and Meredith on the Grove before her big performance.
A little nervous...
Good friends Kate and Kelly were there for support!
Getting into the Kookaburra.
And scene.
This is what I have attached to my leg all day everyday.
Payton and Delaney on the Grove, 11 months old already!
I told you, they are BFFs.
An early birthday treat! A new Electra Amsterdam. I love it and now have a snazzy wicker basket on the front.
Lots of popsicles when it's 100 degrees.
Delaney gets FAR more treats than Meredith ever did at her age.
Grandma KK brought matching 4th of July dresses for the girls so we had to try them out. Thanks KK! She also made the girls an adorable quilt, we are set for the 4th!
Meredith and Bitty Baby.
So, Blogger is messing with me, sorry for no captions on the last few pictures. Anyway, we also go in a trip to the zoo on Sunday. KK hadn't seen the new Africa exibhit which is a favorite of ours. Meredith couldn't care less about the animals, she just likes the Jeep. And Delaney got to taste her first Cheeto.

Sidenote - Meredith told Grandma KK at the store that I buy Cheetos for her "all the time". She's never even had Cheetos! Never believe a 3 year old.
Masai hut, another favorite.
Why bother with the real giraffes when you can touch a fake one?
We love zoo Boise! It's kind of our second home...
Thanks KK and Papa Jim for an awesome weekend. I know it's a long drive but we love it when you visit! Now we have a couple days of recovery before the girls get back to normal, Meredith cried for hours today - meltdown city.
Next up - 4th of July in the "city" and then it's off for a loooong stay in McCall and a
Montana adventure.

An Update for Daddy

I had to post this video so Jesse has something to watch on his phone on his way home tomorrow. He missed Meredith big performance at the Sat. Market today. She did great after having a little nervous spell. This was the end of a week long dance/art camp through TRICA. I thought it was great, Meredith seemed to have fun too! I think she just liked me picking her up on my bike and having picnics afterward everyday. Ahhh finally summer!

June 2009 - Week 3

These are way out of order, but that's okay you'll get the idea. I was hoping to have pictures of a nice sunny weekend spent on the beach in McCall but mother nature keeps messing with us. We did manage to have a super time with the McBrides, despite the rain!
The gang on Fathers Day. Note the rainy deck.
Meredith, Marjorie, Delaney, JJ and Wendell (7mo)
Jesse opening his Fathers Day presents, sporting a dryer sheet 'veil'
We discovered Wendell loves the rings!
Wendell and Delaney (10.5mo)
And...a random picture from last week of the Porters and Hamiltons! It's hard to get 2 toddlers and 3 babies to smile at the same time.
We had dinner across the street at Papa Genes on Fathers Day. Followed by a wild game of wii bowling. Meredith is pretty good!

Happy Fathers Day Dad, Papa Gene, Papa Mike and Jesse!

June 2009 - Week 2

I love to try new desserts. I saw this and have to make them. Blueberry Crumb Bars.

I made this Lemon Crumpet Cake last night for book club. It was delish. You can find the recipe and tons of other yummy treats at Conversations With a Cupcake. I love blogs. Seriously love.

My little Delaney is getting so big! I usually don't post "ohlalala" pictures here but this one was too cute to pass up. This was after a swim session in our neighbors pool. So happy! But not so happy today. She has her first tooth coming in and she is miserable - poor thing.

I'm back from a much needed visit to Seattle! It was so great to see my good friends from college and celebrate the upcoming arrival of Baby Boy York. We cannot WAIT to meet this little man, he is going to be much loved by all his DG aunties and other friends too!

DG gang - 10 year reunion next year perhaps?

The infamous baby sweater is back.

Lindsay is the hostess with the mostess. Linsday was so kind to host the shower at her home, she did such a great job even after getting her car (and purse!) stolen the day before. We had an awesome panini bar...

Here is Linds getting a little practice, holding 8 day old Skylar Fleming.

Blueberry bubbly

You can't really see, but my mom whipped up a great table runner and napkins to match. Thanks Mom!

Our 'nest' themed favors. Meredith was soooo excited to get one too, thanks for thinking of her Linsday.

Nest cupcakes looking pretty.

I know Lindsay took much better pictures, I'll post them when she does.

June 2009 - Week 1

I have to post a picture of my new stools. I've been stalking these stools from The Sundance Catalog for a while, I have yet to see any on ebay or Craigs list. I was negotiating with Jesse to sell one of his horses (good idea Naomi!) so I could justify spending the money on them. On a whim I called the Sundance outlet store in Salt Lake. Low and behold they had 4 stools, for $60 each. They wouldn't hold them or ship them for me but thanks to Facebook the word got out that I needed help. A huge thanks to Sadie and Hannah Venn for picking these up and driving them to Boise for me! I love them, although Meredith claims they make her bum hurt and are too cold, I tell her good taste comes at a price. Also I'm not liking how yellow my walls look. Maybe it's time to paint...already.

Rain, rain go away! Seriously, we're ready for some steady sun around here. We spent the weekend in rainy McCall which was fun but we're all in need for some beach time and Jesse is chomping at the bit to get his boat in the water. We did manage to get in a 'nature walk' as we like to call them. More like a sloooow stroll through the woods with Meredith who likes to stop and look at every pinecone and flower.

Delaney luuuuvs her Daddy. He is so good to the girls, they really adore him. So do I.
I also really like Jesses (bon)fire building skills. We were just needing a little flame for smores, but we got a raging fire instead. Then it started pouring so we used the woodfire place inside. Just not the same! You'll notice NO one was out and about this weekend. Hardly any boats in the water yet. I did see one hearty soul waterskiing!
Next up: A visit from Nana and Papa Mike and Mom goes to Seattle ALONE!

May 2009 - Week 4

Another fun weekend in Boise, this time with Grandma KK. It's always a good time when KK is around! We get to have treats like rootbeer floats.
Delaney even got to have a taste, she kept following anyone who had a spoon and a glass.
KK dogpile
The girls are starting to 'wrestle' with each other. I'm usually in the middle.

KK got to come to swim lessons with us on Friday. Meredith is doing so great!
Delaney is a handful during swim lessons. I usually take her into the daycare, but this day she got to play around.
Floating
Goggle dumpOn Saturday morning we hit the market. We try to go early before the masses arrive, it's insane how busy it gets downtown. Meredith was loving the tango dancing demonstration.
A rare moment for me!
Meredith loves her new Nuu-Muu, now I need one!
KK brought Delaney the teeniest pool ever. She loves it.
She can get in and out all by herself!
We also chicken-sat for our neighbors this weekend. Meredith got to gather the eggs.
And feed the chickens our carrots peels. Tracy is the white one.
We went swimming next door too!
Somehow I got suckered into swimming as well.
A rare family picture at breakfast time.
We'll miss you KK - we love you!
