September 2008

A few more pictures from last weekend in McCall. Dylan and Stacy still had their boat up at the lake so Jesse, Ryan and the Beesons got in one last ski for the year. Dylan also took some great shots. He claims it's his photography skills that get such great photos, I think it's his lense.

Ryan is giving me a hard time about only posting bad pictures of him on the blog. So here you go Ryan! Nice wet suit...
Speaking of wet suits, I think Dylans qualifies as a scuba suit.

We will fondly remember this weekend as the "Guitar Hero and Chainsaw" weekend. The Kearneys joined us in McCall for the weekend which was so much fun, especially since they brought their wii (we liked them before the wii, I promise). Jesse and I have always been opposed to video games until now, we are hooked. Sarah and I might have to coordinate naptimes so we can get the band together to practice.

Jesse likes to sit really close, apparently it helps. He did beat Slash in a guitar battle.

Sarah likes to rock out with one leg up.
Ryan was disgusted with our amateur guitar skills.

It was love at first strum.

We stayed very far away from these two while they cut down trees on our property.
While the boys worked, I took Morgan and Meredith down for a beach picnic.
Bathing beauties.

My happy baby. You can see her thrush that just won't go away and her unfortunate hairline. But we still love her, she is such a good baby!

Me and my girls. Possibly the only 10 mins. Delaney slept all day. She was awake from 9am -10pm, it was amazing. I was starting to get scared.

My precious cargo.

Dylan was a naysayer when we proposed that we play Guitar Hero, but he decided to give it a whirl.

After a few songs he decided it was "okay".
A few minutes later and he deemed GH "awesome"

A true GH legend.
Thanks for sharing your wii Kearneys! My wrist will never be the same.

It's been ages since I reported on the new house. There has been progress and we're hearing that we might be moving in about a month. We'll see...

Poweder bath all tiled and grouted.

Close up of the herringbone subway tile pattern.
Basketweave marble tile in the master bath
Built-in hood over the range.
Right side of the kitchen so far...

My lovely, lovely marble countertops.

Shower tile in the kids bathroom.
Kids bathroom floor tile.
Built-in buffet in the dining room. This will house all our stereo equiptment.
Living room built-ins with little seats on the sides of the fireplace.

I feel like we have been out of the loop what with all of our visitors and travels. I love this time of year because it seems like things slow down a bit and we can spend time with our friends here in Boise. The Bordners came over for dinner the other night. We needed to see how the girls are growing compared to each other!

Not a good picture. It's hard to wrangle 2 toddlers and 2 newborns. We got to meet Miss Isla today, she is a doll. Look at that dark hair! Here are the two little ladies both waking up from naps. What a difference 6 weeks makes!
I hope that we can show the girls these pictures at their high school graduation! Poor Delaney and her receding hairline. It's coming in light!

We missed an exciting event here in Boise this weekend. Our friends Ryan and Heather had their baby girl last Friday! Congrats to the new parents.

I am happy to report that we all made it home safe and sound from Washington. We had great travel luck this weekend, the flying, driving, more driving and more flying went as well as to be expected. I think the portable DVD player is the best money we ever spent.

Delaney got to go on her first plane ride to good old GEG. As you can see she was really excited about the whole thing.

Meredith wouldn't sit by the window for some reason.
Uncle Scott was waiting at my parents house to meet Delaney. A few weeks ago he tore up his ankle mountain biking. The orange cast is in honor of hunting season.
Meredith got to leave her mark...
We drove to Winthrop WA to attend the wedding of my sorority sister, Lindsay who conveniently married one of Jesses fraternity brothers. A big ole' reunion was had including special guests Naomi and Jeff fresh from Portugal.

Delaney was wondering how much Kirsten had to drink...

DG kiddos, they are multiplying!

Naomi teaching Meredith the finer points of sidewalk chalk.

The cabin we stayed at had a hot tub right on the river. A big hit with Meredith.

Delaney just looooves her Papa Jim, especially his nice long legs which are the perfect resting spot.

Ella Samonte was not so sure about the Hamiltons

Chris's Dad was ordained so he could marry them, so sweet!
Mike (aka George Banta) Chels, Darcy, Nancy, Martha and I at cocktail hour. They served Lindsays favorite wine, Pepperbridge. Lucky us!

I will post a house update soon. There is progress!

Despite our travel woes this weekend, we had a fun time with Aunt Kortney and Uncle Chris. We drug them up to McCall once again, this time we had to head up and retrieve our boat for the season. I drove with the girls, alone for the 1st time. 7 stops later we arrived...why can't my babies keep a binky in their mouth?! On the way home the boat trailer got a flat. Thankfully good samaritian Jesse (it was fate!) from Nampa stopped to help. I think the carseat on the side of the highway was a giveaway that maybe we needed some help. Somehow our truck was missing the essential part to the jack. Anyway, we made it home safe and sound!

Delaney and I enjoyed about 20 min. outside the whole weekend.
Miss Meredith however got lots of beach time!
She was pooped!
On Thursday we attended the Salmon BBQ at our local Fish and Game. Right next to our favorite park and just down the street from our new house. Meredith clapped after every song the band played. She said "I'm clapping cause' the song is over!"

Delaney got to meet two special ladies. Shannon and Jennifer!
Meredith got to make a fish painting.
We parked at Papa and Grammies house. Cuddle time was needed after a long day.

House update:
I wish I had pictures to share but it's too depressing. This house building is sloooow going and so frustrating. We've had another 2 week delay due to a flaky tile guy who just didn't want to show up. So now the search is on for a new tile setter. Someday maybe I'll have some good news to share.

Many of you know our dear friends Ryan, Sarah, Morgan and Aiden Kearney. Miss Morgan battles with severe allergies. Sarah has taken on organizing this years FAAN walk - won't you please help us out?!

This is Delaney in her 'startled' pose!

We ventured up to Sun Valley for the wedding of our friends Jack and Kristin. We were lucky to have Nana and Papa Mike come along for the ride! It was a beautiful weekend in Sun Valley. We are lucky to live in such a pretty state (minus Eastern Idaho). Meredith scored her first pair of boots and skis (pink of course).
Before the wedding. Dressed like real adults!
The condo we stayed at had a nice warm pool.
Meredith loves goggles.

Back at home Meredith loves when I wake her up by putting Delaney in her bed. Here are my two goofy girls. Note Merediths leotard she insisted on wearing to bed.
Thanks for visiting Nana and Papa Mike!

One month old already! We just adore our dear Delaney, she is such a good baby. We think she is pretty darn cute too. Her hair is awfully light underneath, we are still wondering if we'll have two blondies...

Speaking of hair, Meredith got her FIRST haircut today if you can believe it. Almost 3 years in the making, it was time! I ended up taking her to Monkey Dooz where I swore I would never step foot. Oh well, she loved the Barbie car and the video games so it was worth it.

Labor Day weekend in McCall was great. 2 nice days and 2 cold days. We even had our first fire of the year. I love the fall! Our friends the McBrides joined us, check out more pictures HERE.

Miss Morgan Kearney turned 4 last week! She had a great party, Sleeping Beauty even showed up to entertain the kids. Best idea ever, she kept them busy while the adults got to visit.

Even the boys got into the Princess action. Fisher got a bug painted on his face.
Meredith got a star. She is still talking about Sleeping Beauty!
