Merediths Birthday and More Skiing

Somehow between weekends in McCall we managed to sneak in a birthday party for Meredith.  She had the idea to make Valentine cards with her friends to have delivered with Meals on Wheels!  Sweet girl.
The girls had fun for about 20 min making Valentines then I had to take them back to school to run off some steam.  Thankfully it's been 60+ here so playing outside is an option.
Pals Ruby and Sofia! I managed this party alone so I don't have many pics.

Quinn was obsessed with Falcons last week so we went to the Birds of Prey to check them out.  Nice enough for a picnic!
 Goofy kids opening Valentines
We have been in McCall every weekend for ski team practice.  Last weekend the girls had the 'Skittle Cup' race.  Basically their favorite race - Skittles at the end for all!
Delaney and Lucy were more interested in catching flakes on their tongues...
 Silly coaches!

Coach Mike is a favorite.  Pumping Delaney up...
I skied with the littles to help them on the lifts so I missed Meredith racing.

February 2015

Back to reality and a 9 year old!  Merediths birthday always sneaks up on us and this year was no different.  We whipped up a fun day on February 4th.  not too exciting for a Tuesday!
Fanci Freeze lunch with Mom at school
 3rd grade buddies
 ballet after school
Me and the little girls stuck on Bear Chair after the power went out and the generator failed.  We got rescued and headed home.  Just not meant to be!
Meredith raced the next day, nice and sunny.  Basically hot.
Cheering section.  Delaney opted out because she found out there was a 'winner'. Ms Sensitive doesn't like competition.
We are so proud of Meredith for racing!  It was her first time and she had fun skiing the gates.
But I am told she would be way faster with a racing suit.

Hawaii 2015

We are spoiled brats and got to travel to Kauai this January.
We love, love, love this trip.  I always say I don't like to go to the same place twice but it's so nice with kids to know just what to expect.  We had so much fun with grandparents, aunts and uncles and great friends!

After 4 hours at PDX we know the place like the back of our hands.
Glad to be on our way to HI!
Nothing like a beverage cart to the knees
Ahhhh, so nice to be back on Poipu Beach.
Inner tubes are an essential to the 8 and under crowd.

Cranes everywhere at the Kiahuna Plantation
We think Quinn found her sport.
Ocean tubing.  It's thrilling to watch.
Salt Pond Beach is an old favorite.  Mostly because of the little reef that makes the water calm and makes for great exploring and crab catching.
Uncle Scott and Aunt Stacy are always up for a little exploring

First time at Pacos Tacos.  Carne Asada loaded fries?  Yes please.

She slept through a shave ice stop
Light reading with Uncle Scott

The first morning in Kauai always starts EARLY.  This year was no exception.  We took and early stroll and swim and were rewarded for getting there early.  This monk seal popped up next to the girls while they were swimming.  We quickly found a local who called the patrol and the girls got to put up the ropes that protect the seals from dumb tourists.  A really cool morning!
We have so much fun with KK!

Watching people jump at Shipwreck beach.
Had to stop and visit our parrot friends at the Hyatt
Jesse took the girls on a whale watching cruise so I went hiking with the 'young adults'.  Waimea Canyon was gorgeous.  Even saw a couple BSU fans along the way.

If you were an absolute idiot you might hurt yourself.
It wasn't that scary...
Lots and lots of beach time.  And lots and lots of beers.
Jesse got a tip from a boat captain about a secluded beach (Allerton) that you can hike to if you area brave.  Dolphins spend the night in the cove and can be found there in the morning.  After a little trespassing and rat filled piles of debris we made it!  Totally worth it, we got to see a pod of dolphins swimming and playing.

Delaney turned her grease spot into a rain cloud ;)
Quinn discovered that naps are actually amazing.  Especially on the beach under a towel on a boogie board.

She didn't even mean to make this face.
The Kiahuna is wedged between the Marriot and the Sheraton which both have great walk up beach bars.  Lucky us!
Emory and Delaney solving the worlds problems.

Best. Shave. Ice. Ever.

Followed by the best slider ever at the farmers market
Lots of sand castles were built.

Old friends Zoe and Meredith
Last day on "The Point".  Pretty sure people were glad to see us vacate.
All 18 of us...

Quinn at the pool after 48 trips down the slide.
She refused the first two days then discovered she loved going down the slide.  Always in her own time.
Headed to the airport for the redeye home.  Just kidding!  Flight cancelled...
Back at the airport ready to go for real this time.
So much laundry, so much sand but SO MUCH FUN.
Memories we will cherish forever!

To add to our depression the SuperBowl was a big flop.
We did have fun at the party though!
Good news is that Quinn finally decided to try riding with no training wheels. SUCCESS!
