August 2008

Oh happy day! I am pleased to report that our friends and cabinmates, the Porters are now a family of FIVE! Melissa delivered twin boys today at 34 weeks.

Baby A-4lbs 8oz....Case Kane Porter

Baby B-3lbs 9oz....Grayson Key Porter

The Portilton cabin just got a bit more crowded ;) Congrats Brett, Melissa and Miss Ava!

Also a big congrats to our friends Carl, Amy and Lily Pedersen who welcomed their little boy into the word today too!

Gustav David Alexander

Carl says "Yes, that is his real full name and yes his first name is really Gustav."

My birthday weekend in McCall started out like this, from left to right, Delaney, me, Meredith and Ah-Ba Baby (the scariest doll ever made). Sorry Jesse, no room.

We later moved to the beach. Come to find out newborns and sand just don't mix.
Meredith is figuring out how to swim farther out in the lake with her life jacket on. Jesse is determined to get her jumping off the end of the dock.
The German Chocolate cake I made myself. Poor Jesse doesn't like coconut, more for me and Meredith!
At 31 years of age with my two best achievements!
Fruit roll-up break time. It's much easier to have Delaney on the grass...

Summer is definitely winding down. It's still scorching hot here in Boise though. We are looking forward to Labor Day in McCall. If you are around and know where our cabin is - stop by, Jesse needs a spotter for the boat ;)

I thought Meredith needed a little blog time. She's been quite busy since her sister arrived. She has been to feed the ducks...

She likes to arrange flowers...
She really likes to cruise the local parks with her buddy Fisher...
She's busy teaching Delaney how to read...
Meredith got some quality Papa Jim time this weekend...
She's been on picnics...
And the Boise Trolley Tour...

This weekend Jesse and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. Sadly, we were apart for the big day. Jesse had important duties as best man at the wedding of Brian and Christine. Cheers to my wonderful husband who is an amazing dad, and to the newlyweds!

A friend of mine from college has her own Etsy shop. She sent me a precious bracelet with Meredith and Delaneys names engraved on it, very sweet! Check our her great stuff here.

Delaneys first trip to the Saturday Market, a rite of passage! Meredith for some reason was not enjoying her doughnuts as much as she usually does.

What a good Grandpa!

Finally we made time for Delaneys first bath. Meredith is a big help...
She likes scrubbing her sister.

Much to my own surprise, Target was not our first outing with Delaney. It was a Meredith-centric week so we hit Powells in Bown Crossing for some treats. If this place doesn't have it, they don't make it. It's amazing.

Delaney was really into candy shopping.
I love the way newborns fit into things, like the straight jacket sling in the Chariot. I think Meredith liked it better when she had both seats to herself!

I thought the blog needed a house update so here we go. Things are moving right along, the front porch is taking shape as you can see. The interior is all painted and we are thrilled with the trim work, it really is fantastic. The colors in the photos are a little off, but you get the idea! Next up is flooring I think and then our cabinets which I can't wait to see.

Dining room, hallways are a light gray.

Merediths room is a light yellow. She likes her view!
The lighting is way off, but the girls bathroom is a light green. Love the built-ins next to the shower that the trim guy did for us. The bottom half will have drawers.
Delaneys room is a very soft pink, she has the best windows.
Main floor bathroom. Will have subway tile soon.

Master bedroom is a green/khaki though you can't tell.
My side of the closet
Jesses side of the closet. We have shoe storage all along the base of the closet.
Meredith goofing off with some wire or something.
Master bath trim
Meredith has her own secret room in the basement.

TV room in the basement
Behind the double pocket doors is my laundry room
Guest room to the right, bathroom to the left
Just a wall in the basement!

Meredith loves to hold her sister.

Grandma KK with Delaney. We have been so blessed to have my mom help us the first week. My first moments of panic came when I had to take her to the airport today. We will miss her so much and hope we can survive. I may never shower again...

Grandma KK kept Meredith busy with project like ice cream cone cupcakes.

We finally met Payton Bordner! Here are the big kids and the little ones.
Delaney couldn't quite stay awake for the event.
Dads and babes.
Babes and babes

To see more Delaney pictures from her first couple of days, go HERE.

Delaney Jane Hamilton

7lbs 4oz, 18in

Sweet little toes
Our expanding family!
Getting ready to head home - the real test begins!
Will she end up a blondie like her sister? She does have the same blue eyes and blonde eyebrows.
And CONGRATS to the Bordners who we just missed in the hospital. Payton Fraces Bordner arrived this morning. I hear she is precious. Kirstin and I did end up having our girls one day apart - amazing.

Slip N' Slide Madness!

The first weekend of August proved to be a fun one! We of course are "stuck" at home until this baby arrives (which feels like it could be any second). Our neighbors, The Humes, have an awesome sleeding/sliding hill in their backyard. We laughed so hard watching the kiddos cruise down the hill on 3 slip n' slides all hooked together. Meredith went so fast the first time she got a bit freaked and would then only go down when the water was off. We sure are going to miss our neighbors when we move.

I'm thinking this baby is going to be appearing soon so we decided to take Meredith to the local pond to ride the "duck boats" she sees everyday when we drive by. Not quite Lake Payette, but Meredith had a good time.

Wow, my hair is short!

Meredith got a special Red Rope treat.

The duck boat.
